The right honeymoon destination is mostly a scheduling problem. Your wedding date fixes your travel month, your travel month rules out roughly half the world, and visa lead times decide the rest. Here is the 2026 shortlist organised that way.

Married between November and March

  • Maldives — peak season, flat seas, best underwater visibility. Visa on arrival. From about ₹95,000 per couple
  • Thailand’s Andaman coast — dry, calm and excellent value. Visa on arrival. From about ₹85,000
  • Dubai — the short option if leave is tight. E-visa in under a week. From about ₹65,000
  • Kerala — driest months, no visa, no flights over two hours. From about ₹49,000

Married between April and June

  • Kashmir — blossom, tulips and snow on the peaks. April is the best single month in India
  • Bali — dry season starts in April and September is quieter than July
  • Santorini — May and June are warm without the August crowds. Schengen visa needs 6–8 weeks

Married between July and October

  • Bali and the Gilis — the driest, clearest months of the Indonesian year
  • Santorini in late September — warmest sea, thinning crowds
  • Maldives green season — manta season in Baa Atoll and rates close to half of peak

Visa lead times, roughly

  1. Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia — visa on arrival, no lead time
  2. UAE — e-visa, three to four working days
  3. Sri Lanka — ETA, usually same week
  4. Schengen (Greece, Italy, France) — six to eight weeks, appointment dependent
  5. United Kingdom — three to six weeks

If you are marrying in peak wedding season and want Europe, start the visa process before you book the flights. It is the single most common reason a 2026 honeymoon has to be replanned.

Frequently asked

How far in advance should we book a 2026 honeymoon?
Three to four months for visa-on-arrival destinations, and five to six for anything requiring a Schengen visa or travel over Christmas and New Year.
Which honeymoon destination gives the best value in 2026?
Thailand’s Andaman coast and the Maldives green season, both of which deliver considerably more room and food per rupee than their peak-season equivalents.
